Throughout her post-secondary education, Breanna made a point to take extra classes for independent study in conducting. During her master's string pedagogy program, she was a student coach with the Chamber Strings Orchestra (affiliated with Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestras) and conducted one piece with them under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Gillespie. On a similar note, she coached and conducted string orchestras for the Ohio State University Morning Strings Student Workshop. Summer 2019, Breanna was accepted as a fellow to the Conductor's Institute of South Carolina, a long-standing conducting workshop in the US. There she was coached by Donald Portnoy, Peter Jaffe, and Victoria Bond. At the University of Iowa, Breanna was given the opportunity to conduct two movements of Mendelssohn's Reformation Symphony with the Chamber Orchestra which usually only conducting-degree candidates conduct. In her doctoral program, her secondary area is conducting.
